Russia says its forces have killed more than 290 Ukrainian soldiers in just 24 hours near the Kursk border area. This information was shared on Wednesday by the Russian Ministry of Defence.
According to the Russian military, they destroyed:
1 tank
1 armoured personnel carrier
4 armoured combat vehicles
4 other vehicles
3 artillery pieces
These attacks reportedly caused heavy losses to the Ukrainian forces in the area.
Russia says that, since the war started, Ukraine has lost: Over 50,120 soldiers 294 tanks 217 infantry fighting vehicles.
The Ministry of Defence shared these numbers to show how much damage they believe they have done to Ukraine’s military near the Kursk region.
The Kursk region is very important in the ongoing conflict. Both sides are fighting hard to control this area. The latest numbers, if true, show how intense the battles have been.
So far, these claims have not been confirmed by independent sources. Ukraine has not yet responded to the latest statement from Russia. This makes it hard to know if the numbers shared are accurate.
