PHOTOS: Police Arrest Five People for Smuggling Guns Across Borders


The Nigeria Police Force has arrested five people for smuggling guns across borders. These suspects were caught by the Force Intelligence Bureau and Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) on November 18, 2024.


The suspects are:

Adamu Noma

Matthew Audu

Andrew Poyi

Aminu Sani

Aminu Talha


These men were believed to be involved in selling illegal guns across the borders, which could have been used for crimes in the country.


When the police arrested the suspects, they found:

10 locally made AK-47 rifles

5 Israeli AK-47 rifles

1 revolver pistol

1 pump-action rifle

20 bullets for AK-47 rifles

1 welding machine used to make guns




The spokesperson for the police, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that this arrest shows the police are working hard to reduce crime and keep people safe.


He also said the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered his officers to find all illegal guns in the country and stop those making and selling them.


Stopping the smuggling of guns will help reduce crimes and make communities safer. The police are asking everyone to help by reporting any suspicious activities related to illegal guns.
