Gunmen Abduct Three Relatives of Former Daily Trust Editor, Demand N50 Million Ransom

Three relatives of Malam Ahmed Tahir Ajobe, a former editor at Daily Trust, have been kidnapped in Kogi State. The victims include a male and two females, one of whom is Ajobe’s younger sister, Halimtu-Sadiya Tahir. They were abducted on Thursday evening along the Ankpa-Adoka-Makurdi road, a road known for its poor condition.

The family members were returning from a local market, where they had gone to buy items for a prayer ceremony for their late mother, Malama Aishetu Tahir, who passed away recently. The kidnappers contacted the family on Friday and demanded a ransom of N50 million for their release.

The family is currently in talks with the kidnappers, but no ransom has been paid yet. The victims are still in the hands of the abductors. The situation remains tense, with the family hoping for a safe return of their loved ones.

The Kogi State Police have confirmed the abduction. Officers have been sent to track down the kidnappers and bring them to justice. The police have also called in extra help to support the rescue operation.

This incident is another reminder of the security problems in some parts of Nigeria. The community and police are working hard to bring the victims home safely.
