A recent incident involving a Bolt driver and Hon. Alex Ikwechegh has captured public attention. The Bolt driver, delivering an order of snails, arrived later than expected, which reportedly angered Hon. Ikwechegh. This led to a heated confrontation, with the Honorable allegedly slapping the driver, tearing his shirt, and even threatening to make him disappear. Despite this, the driver has come forward to apologize, asking Nigerians for forgiveness
The situation began when the Bolt driver reached Hon. Ikwechegh’s location with an order of snails. According to the driver, he greeted Hon. Ikwechegh, who remained silent. Confused, the driver called Hon. Ikwechegh’s phone to confirm he was in the right place. This, however, provoke the Honorable’s anger.
The driver says Hon. Ikwechegh started shouting at him, calling him insulting names. Then, the driver claims, the Honorable slapped him and tore his shirt, going as far as threatening to make him disappear without facing any consequences.
Feeling unsafe, the driver took out his phone and began recording the encounter. This only made Hon. Ikwechegh angrier, leading to the driver’s arrest.
After spending some time in police custody, the driver was released. Once out, he took to social media to issue a public apology, asking Nigerians to forgive him for any provocation caused to Hon. Ikwechegh. He expressed regret, saying, I didn’t mean to offend Hon. Alex Ikwechegh. I just want peace.
