A terrible accident happened in Batam, Riau Islands, where a 23-year-old man, known as BS, got badly burned after his phone caught fire while it was charging on his bed. BS works as an online motorcycle taxi driver. He had come home and plugged in his phone to charge before falling asleep. At around 9:00 AM, there was a loud explosion in his house, which worried his neighbors. When they checked, they found BS badly burned because his phone had exploded.
The Head of Criminal Investigation, Iptu Ardiansyah, confirmed the story. “It’s true, it happened this morning around 09.00 WIB,” he said. The police are still looking into what caused the explosion, but it seems the phone overheated while charging, leading to the fire.
BS was rushed to the hospital right away. He is in very serious condition, and doctors are working hard to help him.
