SHOCKING NEWS : Mortuary Attendants and Five Others Arrested Over Missing Body Parts in Osun State

In Osun State, the police have arrested seven people, including mortuary workers, for stealing body parts. The arrests came after a citizen reported suspicious activities.

The suspects are Johnson Daniel, Adetunji Okunade, Olaniyan Azeez, Balogun Temitope Asimiyu, Oladapo Hammed, Kazeem Rasak, and Asaka Rauf. They were caught with human bones, female underwear, and notebooks believed to be related to illegal activities.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Giwa-Alade Emmanuel, confirmed the arrests at a press briefing on Wednesday, September 18, in Osogbo. He said the arrests happened after a concerned citizen gave the police a tip-off. The police acted quickly, and items linked to their criminal activities were found.

Mortuary workers are trusted to handle bodies with care and respect. However, in this case, they may have abused that trust. It is suspected that they were part of a ritual activity involving human body parts. This has shocked the community, and people are asking for better security measures in mortuaries.

The arrests were possible because a citizen reported the suspicious activities to the police. This shows how important it is for the community to stay alert and report anything unusual. Deputy PPRO Giwa-Alade praised the citizen and urged others to do the same.

The investigation is still ongoing, and the suspects will face charges for possessing human body parts. The police are also checking if this is part of a larger crime network. The authorities are determined to make sure justice is served.

The arrest of these mortuary workers and others is a reminder that some people take advantage of vulnerable situations. This case calls for stricter rules in mortuaries and more community awareness. The police are committed to ensuring justice and keeping the public safe.
