A young man named Samuel John, 20 years old, has been sentenced to six months in prison for stealing beans worth N20,000. This happened in Ibadan, where a Grade 'A' customary court delivered the judgment. Samuel pleaded guilty to the crime, leading to his sentencing.
On the evening of September 2, around 6:00 p.m., Samuel broke into the house of a woman named Felicia Oni in the Omi-Adio area of Ibadan. While inside her house, he stole beans that were valued at N20,000. This act got him arrested and brought to trial.
During the trial, the prosecutor, Philip Amusan, said Samuel's actions went against sections 411 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The judge, Ms. Sukurat Yusuf, sentenced Samuel to six months in prison without any option to pay a fine. He will serve his time at the Agodi Correctional facility in Ibadan.
