JUST IN : 70-Year-Old Man Commits Suicide by Jumping off Lagos Bridge ending his life

A tragic event occurred in Lagos as a 70-year-old man jumped off one of the city’s bridges, ending his life. Before he jumped, people asked him why he was doing it. He replied, "I am tired of this life. Don’t hold me." Sadly, no one could stop him.

No one knows exactly why the man took his own life. Some people believe it could be due to the hard times in the country, like the rising cost of living and economic struggles. Others think it may be personal, like family problems or feeling abandoned.

This sad event shows how important it is to focus on mental health in Nigeria. Many people are struggling with stress and depression, but often don’t seek help because mental health is not widely discussed. Older people, especially those living alone, may feel lonely or overwhelmed.

We must pay attention to the mental well-being of people, especially the elderly. Families, neighbors, and friends should offer support and listen if someone seems troubled. More mental health services are also needed to help people in difficult times.
