Nairobi, Kenya - Police have arrested a man believed to be a serial killer, who confessed to murdering 42 women, including his wife. The suspect, 33-year-old Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, admitted to dismembering the bodies and dumping them in a rubbish tip in Nairobi.
Nine butchered bodies in plastic bags have been found at a garbage site in the Mukuru slum area. Acting Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, confirmed that the suspect was arrested at around 3:00 am on Monday, July 15, near a bar in Nairobi.
Mohamed Amin, head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), described Khalusha as a "psychopathic serial killer." Khalusha claimed the murders happened between 2022 and July 11 this year. He lured, killed, and disposed of 42 female bodies at the dumping site. Shockingly, his first victim was his own wife, whom he strangled and dismembered before disposing of her body at the same site.
The police tracked Khalusha using one of the victim’s mobile phones. When officers moved in, Khalusha was in the process of luring another victim. A search of his one-room house, located just 100 meters from the crime scene, revealed disturbing evidence including a machete, nylon sacks, rope, industrial rubber gloves, a pink female handbag, and two female panties.
The crime scenes in Mukuru will remain active as police continue their investigation. Autopsies on the nine recovered bodies are scheduled to be carried out soon.
The shocking nature of this case has left the community in fear and mourning, and the police are committed to uncovering the full extent of Khalusha's crimes and bringing justice to the victims and their families.
