JUST IN : Nigerians Can Now Obtain UAE Visas — Says Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, as UAE Finally Lifts Travel Ban on Nigerians

Great news for Nigerian travelers! The Federal Government has reached an agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that allows Nigerian passport holders to obtain visas for travel to the UAE starting today, July 15, 2024.

According to Channels Television, the announcement came from the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, during a briefing with State House correspondents. This briefing followed the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Minister confirmed, “Today an agreement has been reached with the UAE effective from today, July 15, Nigerian passport holders intending to travel to the UAE can do so.”

In a statement on his X handle, Minister Idris added: “Following successful talks and extensive, mutually beneficial negotiations between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, an agreement was reached allowing for the resumption of travel to the UAE for Nigerian passport holders."

This agreement includes updated controls and conditions to facilitate obtaining a UAE visa. The resumption of visas is effective from July 15, 2024.
