On Thursday, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed a tragic event where three site workers died in a building collapse. This sad incident happened at Arowojobe Estate in the Maryland area of Lagos State.
Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, shared details with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He said the building at No 13, Wilson Mba Street, Arowojobe Estate, suddenly fell, trapping the workers inside. Despite the quick response from emergency services, the three men were found dead.
After the distress call, LASEMA quickly sent a team to the site. Their main goal was to rescue any survivors and recover the bodies. Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu stressed that safety and following building regulations are crucial to prevent such tragedies in the future.
