JUST IN: A 300-level Student was Arrested for Attacking a Fellow student with Razor Blade



Rachael Olufogbe, a 300-level student at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), was arrested by the police for allegedly attacking another student with a razor blade. The incident happened on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in a private hostel in Oye Egbo, a community outside the university.

The trouble started over a clothesline in the hostel. The victim moved Olufogbe's clothes to make space for her own. This act led to a heated argument between the two students. During the argument, Olufogbe allegedly picked up a razor blade and slashed the victim, causing injuries.

Prof. Sunday Fashina, the Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, confirmed the incident. He emphasized that the attack happened off-campus. "Such acts are not tolerated within the campus due to strict rules. The police are now handling the situation," he said.

Prof. Fashina explained that once the police are involved, the university cannot interfere. "We will wait for the police investigation to conclude before conducting our own review," he added.
